An evening of tapas and wine pairings inspired by the company’s past and future seasons.


$50 (+$3.99 e-ticket fee)

Hosted by Satan (Elliott James), from Punctuate!’s An Evening with Satan, the evening will be full of devilishly good food and inspired drink pairings designed by local chef Eric Hanson and sponsored by ACME Meats and the Organic Box. Guests will also be treated to live entertainment, music and sneak peaks into the past, present and future of Punctuate! Theatre.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for the public to enjoy great food while supporting one of Edmonton’s most exciting theatre companies,” Miranda Sommerville, Punctuate!’s Board President says. “Proceeds from this event will help us continue to produce award-winning theatre as we follow up the Sterling Award we won for East of Berlin earlier this summer.”

Colin Matty of Edmonton’s only Poet Shop will delight guest with spoken word poetry crafted to order. Other performances include an original piece by Ainsley Hillyard of Good Woman Dance Collective, an excerpt from Ask Aggie by Small Matters Productions’ Chrisitine Lesiak, and of course performances from Punctuate! Theatre’s company members.

The Past

A thai bite to awaken your palate. Pineapple topped with crushed peanuts, palm sugar, chill threads, lime and cilantro.

Fabiano Pinot Grigio Delle Venezie sponsored by Funds Administrative Service Inc.

This Italian white is a delicate bouquet of white acacia blossom, apricots and peaches. Natural acidity balances the subtle fruit flavours providing a gentle but lengthy finish.

2nd Course

The Present

Lamb Two Ways by Eric Hanson, sponsored by ACME Meats. 

Lamb Tartare prepared with egg yolk custard, fresh herbs, and sunchokes. Followed by Braised Lamb slow cooked in red wine, mirepoix, and fresh herbs

Mas Des Etoiles White sponsored by Color De Vino

This full bodied white comes from an exclusive vineyard in Cahors, France. Mas Des Etolies is a blend of chardonnay and sauvignon blanc grapes, and is barrel fermented.

The Future

Sweet Beets by Eric Hanson, sponsored by the Organic Box.

A last taste of Summer! Sweet pickled beets served with fresh strawberries, goat's Feta and herbs.

With the combination of pure apple juice, ground cinnamon other spices this moonshine perfectly captures the smell and taste of Grandma’s Apple Pie.


Punctuate!’s exciting upcoming project is the entire Suburban Motel Series by George F. Walker. Details shared by Artistic Director Liz Hobbs, and performance by Andréa Jorawsky and Delia Barnett.

Meet our Chef: Eric Hansen

A home grown Chef who’s familiar with Edmonton’s dining scene.

Eric honed his craft traveling and cooking in 40 countries for over ten years before returning home to inject the community with his unique style. He spent two years in Australia, where he learned the art of seafood at Berardo’s which earned 19 out of 20 in the Sydney Herald Good Food Guide. Eric was also the Head of the 5 Star Tala Private Game Reserve in South Africa where he got the chance to cook with a wide variety of game meats. Next Eric lived in England where he worked at a top 50 Wine bar in the U.K.

Recently Eric tied for 1st in the Indigenous Black Box Chef Off Challenge at Taste of Edmonton. He was the Executive Chef at Niche in Edmonton which placed #15 in Canada for Best New Restaurants 2012. He owns his own company: Chef Eric Hanson. He’s the Executive Chef for Art by Pekoe, an emerging local artist, a Travel Writer for ArtTrends Magazine and a resident Chef on Breakfast Television.

These days Chef Eric can be found teaching at Get Cooking, with a very talented team of chefs.
