Punctuate! Theatre, the company that brought Edmonton last year's Suburban Motel marathon, is pleased to announce that GLENDA STIRLING will be directing THIS IS WAR by HANNAH MOSCOVITCH playing MARCH 3-13, 2016 in the PCL STUDIO THEATRE at the ATB Financial Arts Barns.

THIS IS WAR centers around four Canadian soldiers returning from the conflict in Afghanistan. Through characters’ interviews and memories, it takes a deep look at the psychological toll that warfare inflicts upon those on the front lines. THIS IS WAR challenges our humanity and who we become when faced with impossible decisions.

“Our Canadian soldiers are asked to go into combat, and, when they return, they are expected to comprehend their experiences and justify their choices in the theatre of war,” says DIRECTOR GLENDA STIRLING. “Is it fair? Is it possible? Can we ever understand the answers?”

Tickets: Adult $25.00 | Student/Senior $20.00

Available at Tix on the Square or cash/credit at the door.

All Canadian Armed Forces members and veterans are invited to any performance free of charge.

The Poppy Fund

The Greater Edmonton Poppy Fund is a service branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. The fund's purpose is to assist Canadian veterans and their dependants. The money raised is used to provide ex-service personnel and their families with dental and eye care, medical equipment, prescriptions, shelter, clothing and other assistance.

We are partnering with The Greater Edmonton Poppy Fund in an effort to reach out to Edmonton's veteran community. We will be making a contribution to their efforts by donating a portion of our profits to the fund.  We wanted to partner with this organization because we believe in giving back to the community in a way that will make a difference.  This donation will stay in Edmonton and go directly to assisting ex-service personnel and their families.

Talk Back Night

Tuesday March 8

Performance at 7:30pm | Talk Back at 9:00pm

All Tickets Pay-What-You-Can

This Is War takes a intensely haunting look into the lives of soldiers while on tour in Afghanistan and after returning home to Canada.  The play humanizes the life-and-death decisions that members of the Canadian Armed Forces have to make and live with.  We believe in not only producing excellent plays that entertain and challenge our audiences; we also believe in reaching out to our community and opening up a dialogue about the issues presented in our plays.

Join us after our performance on Tuesday March 8 for a talk back about the play featuring former and current members of the Canadian Armed Forces, and representatives of Canadian Military service organizations.
