JOLEEN BALLENDINE
BIOGRAPHY
Joleen is an actor, improvisor, writer and instructor based out of Edmonton, Alberta. In 2007 she was invited to join the cast of Rapid Fire Theatre and from there she has never looked back. Now she is the Director of Education for Rapid Fire and performs regularly as a senior performer. She has had the opportunity to traveled all over Canada, the U.S and tours annually to Europe teaching and performing with her improv duo Rå Power starring her and Amy Shostak.
She is proud to be the creator of RFT's Out-Reach Program working in such schools and organizations as Boyle Street Education Centre, Delton Elementary School, iHuman and The Boys and Girls Club, just to name a few. Her love of comedy has lead her to produce and host an alternative comedy show called Dr. Jokes, write many plays, perform in thousands of improv shows and write and perform in television. In 2017, Joleen joined the cast and writers room for Caution May Contain Nuts, a sketch comedy show on APTN( Aboriginal Peoples Television Network). She worked on two seasons with them and was even nominated for 2 Canadian Screen Awards, for acting and writing. Joleen, feels incredibly lucky to live in Edmonton, in a city she feels artist can live and pursue their dreams of being an artist.
