PACHAKUTEQ ESPINOZA BRAVO
BIOGRAPHY
Audiovisual artist born in the city of Cusco, Peru in 1976. Coming from the well-known Espinoza family, his grandfather Don Faustino Espinoza called "The Inka" was in charge of the research and staging of the most important festival of the Inkas in these new times called the “INTI RAYMI” means Sun Festivity where he was the main actor of the festival as the Inka emperor for the first 13 years. His parents Carmen Bravo and Fausto Espinoza (passed away 1996) both recognized artists in Peru for their works, trajectory and projects. Through Pachakuteq’s exploration of arts, he has a history of 18 years of cultural activity in different countries such as Peru, Mexico, Ecuador, Bolivia, Israel and now in Canada studying the magic of the Indigenous cultures of this country in representation of the Makiwan Centro de Arte y Comunicacion Centre in Lima, Peru that is now developing a social aid projects for children and youth get to study arts and make a carrier. He is an artist committed in search of the mind-body-spirit connection for to be transmitted into the performance. He manages different techniques, which range from Music Production and Video Mapping Projection to Video Edition and live music performance. He is a co-founder of the artists collective "Taller de Arte Makiwan" started in Mexico, in 2001 where he studied different techniques of Visual Arts such as Drawing, Painting, Airbrushing and Modeling with plaster or clay, always inspired by the theme of the cultural preservation of the Indigenous cultures of the American continent.
He studied in Dj's Music school in Lima Peru in 2011 where he excelled in his class for his knowledge in making remixes and edits of songs and was hired as a teacher of music edition and remixes in that same school. Always in continuous learning practicing and perfecting himself in personal projects that seek to preserve and transmit the native culture. He created a character who performs 3 Peruvian instruments at the same time such as the “Charango”, the “Zampoñas” (Peruvian panflutes), and his voice, played by himself or accompanied by live Dj's, and Didgeridoo players has participated in numerous events highlighting Multicultural Festivals. He has done Video Mapping for the main and chill out stages for the Pachamama Conexion Festival from 2010 to 2012, Arkana Festival in 2014, and performing as Dj Set as “Dj Pachakuteq” from 2010 to 2017. He was part of the Triptamina Records, and 7 sellos Reggae Crew, also member of the musical group "Illa Teqce" in Cusco 2016- 2017 in the genre Musica Andina Fusion as a Charango player. Before moving to Canada, he was the Cultural Director of the healing and arts centre “Chaska Punku” in Cusco, Peru in 2017.
