PLAY DEVELOPMENT

Vita Nova

"Vita Nova", improbably, is a play in the vein of 1970s American absurdist melodramas, set in the middle of the second decade of our current century, at the confluence of the housing crisis and opioid epidemic in Toronto. A woman who can't tell the truth is trying to reconcile both her fictitious and real pasts to her unfortunate present. For good measure, she also needs to solve a murder. Fast.
