BIOGRAPHY

Jessica is Cree/Metis from Edmonton Alberta. She has worked in health, advocacy, and the arts throughout her life. She began her career as an artist dancing with White Braid Society and as a fancy dancer. Later, she worked in traditional arts such as beadwork and sewing, creating traditional Metis clothing and regalia. She has published writing on addiction and collective approaches to health and wellbeing. Jessica currently works as the operations director for Dreamspeakers Festival Society which supports and produces Indigenous performing and visual art and artists. Her favourite activity is spending time with her granddaughter Kris.

BIOGRAPHY

Matthew MacKenzie is a citizen of the Métis Nation of Alberta and proud father of Ivan (Eevan, Vanya, Vanichka).  Artistic Director of Punctuate! Theatre, Matthew is also the founder and an Artistic Associate with Pyretic Productions, a founding member of the Pemmican Collective, as well as Canadian Liaison of the Liberian Dance Troupe.  Matt’s plays include First Métis Man of Odesa, Bears, After the Fire and The Particulars
